Spring Spruce Up

We are renters.  This means per our lease we are not allowed to paint the walls or remodel anything.  Now that we are expecting a lil one I am nesting super hard.  I work from home already but knowing I'll also be taking care of an infant I wanted my surroundings to bring positivity to me.  Since we won't be looking to buy a house anytime soon we had limited options to updating our space.  We worked with what we could and the results were amazing!

I'll show you the two biggest factors for our dining room revamp.

Our original rug we loved but we wanted something more durable in texture for the chairs (and our dogs) and an updated boho feel to our dining room.

We added this new rug and a new pot for our plant.  These small changes really turned our dining space from modern and clean to warm and bohemian.

Original rug: Safavieh Rug in Purple  (comes in over 10 other colors)

New rug: Chembra in 5 x 8 size

Our fireplace before was this depressing brown color.  We asked our landlord if we could paint the fireplace and she agreed!  A fireplace is a huge focal point for which ever room it's in.

Look at how much brighter it is!  The color is a little more blue than the grey.  On the swatch we opted for something more grey but the blue came through a bit more than expected.  We still love it and are so happy with these easy and transformative updates to our dining room.

If you're looking to update your space I strongly suggest a new rug and a fresh coat of paint on your fireplace (if you have one).
